The furor over the leader of the Catholic Church in Australia, George Pell’s handling of yet another sexual assault case couldn’t have been more timely for journalist and author Robert Blair Kaiser, a former Jesuit turned Vatican watcher who has just released his latest book: “Cardinal Mahony”. It’s called reality fiction – a mix of fact and imagination, based on events in the Catholic Church in America, but which scarily imitates recent events in Australia. Catherine Zengerer talks to journalist and author Robert Blair Kaiser and asked him whether the publicity over the Cardinal Pell scandal overshadowed the release of his book.
