Accidents resulting from reversing cars are making up more and more child-related vehicle incidents each year. And as manufacturers continue to make changes to the size and shape of new cars visibility out the back window is being affected. In response NRMA Insurance have recently conducted a Reversing Visibility test as part of car safety standards. Results show that cameras may be an answer in increasing visibility and reducing the number of accidents involving children. Robert McDonald is the NRMA Insurance Head of Research responsible for the test. He explained how many accidents are occuring because of poor visibility.
