Gynaecological cancer is one of Australia’s most diagnosed cancers among women. It’s also one of the most treatable, so it potentially comes as a surprise to observe the disparity that exists between Indigenous and non-Indigenous cases.

Cancer Australia have released a booklet, aimed at reducing the instances of gynaecological cancers amongst the Indigenous female population.

Nick Parmeter spoke with Dr. Helen Zorbas, CEO of Cancer Australia, and Kristine Falzon, Regional Manager at Waminda South Coast Women Health & Welfare Aboriginal Corporation, to find out how the booklet can make genuine, lasting change.
