Peter Dutton’s Department of Home Affairs is considering options to stop migrants, who’s visas compel them to live in regional areas, from leaving those areas once they receive permanent residency.

The Department wants to bind these migrants to regional areas, to take stress off of our larger cities and to stimulate regional economies.

The move has raised questions over the migrants right to freedom of movement, and left some asking if this is the best way to stimulate regional communities.
