Kings Domain, Melbourne continues to gain media attention as the camp established as part of an Indigenous Rights Campaign for the Commonwealth Games draws in the Council, Statae and Federal Governments. There is growing confusion over the legislation and court orders. Gary Murray Deputy Chair person for North – West Nations Land Corporation believes the declaration protects the camp in it’s entirety and can enforce penalties of up to $ 50,000 for breaches. The protesters’ spokesman, Robert Corowa supports the view that the Melbourne City’s Council removal of tents and a cooking fire was out of their jurisdiction.
