Refugee advocates are urging the government to take the lives of asylum seekers more seriously.

Social support for people seeking asylum was cut by 95 per cent, with successive Federal Governments forcing people seeking asylum further into poverty, sickness and homelessness.

It comes as the Albanese government spent less than half of the nearly 37 million dollars allocated for ‘asylum seeker support’ in the 2022/2023 budget.
