One person who’s certainly unhappy with the partnership between the Defence Department and the university is Eva Cox, a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences at UTS. She says the research deparment of the university is missing a crucial ethical framework, which could better guide their industry partnerships. Eva joined the university’s only research ethics committee two years ago. It deals purely with the ethics of research that might harm living organisms. During her time on the committee she has fought hard to change the way the university establishes research partnerships. The Wire spoke with Eva short time ago.
