Call for renewables, efficiencies as COAG Energy Council meets

As state and territory energy ministers met in Canberra today, environmental groups called for plans to transition toward a 100 per cent renewable energy grid.

The focus is a little different to the agenda set by Federal Minister for environment and Energy Josh Frydenberg, who wants to encourage the take up of more renewables while fostering competition in state energy markets.
