Social service organisations and UNICEF have today jointly issued a call for the new parliament to strong focus to tackling child poverty. The peak body of Australia’s community services sector, ACOSS, says that in recent years, we’ve gone backwards on the issue. They say that single parent families are doing it particularly tough, and that the solutions are within the reach of the federal government.
