Three months on from the devastating effects of Cyclone Nargis reports say that little has changed in the conditions for thousands of homeless Burmese. The military regime continues its tight control over the country’s borders, hampering the efforts of international aid agencies. The Australian Federal Government says it will double its contribution to the relief effort. But Australian human rights groups say the enormity of the disaster means Australians still need to do more. Now, as the monsoon season approaches, there are fears that the death toll could rise.
