The Wire received an email from a Burmese activist trying to get the message out about some of the things happening in his country. It seems the repressive Burmese regime has a control even over the Buddhist monastries of the country. Bo Kyi told us the story of a Buddhist monk who was thrown out because he was helping AIDS victims. It looks like the ousted monk will not be accepted anywhere else . Not just a one off case, this shows how things work in Burma. Rachna Subir Sen spoke with Bo Kyi about the situation.
