British Parliament votes down Syrian intervention
The failure of a vote endorsing military intervention in Syria in Britain’s Parliament House early Friday Morning means that a US-led military strike on the troubled country is less likely to happen. While not binding, the vote sends a resounding message to the British PM David Cameron said he believed a “tough response” was needed in the face of the Syrian Government’s alleged use of chemical weapons.
Since the middle of the week, America has attempted to drum up support for a US-led air strike but after the latest development in Britain, Dr Peter Jennings from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute says that America are also unlikely to receive any approval from the UN.
