“Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land,” that was the catch-cry of protestors after police broke-up the Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Musgrave Park, south of the Brisbane river earlier this morning.
The Tent Embassy has been in place since March, marking the fortieth anniversary of the original Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Canberra. Up until now, the peaceful protest has been allowed to remain in the park, an area of significance to the local Jagera people. Over one-hundred police descended on the group this morning making over thirty arrests.
