On Wednesday at the Lord Mayor and Civic Cabinet listens forum for Brisbane City Council, the Council stated that they had no plans to declare a climate emergency in the near future.

Brisbane City Council is instead relying on their current and future sustainability endeavours to combat climate change.

This decision comes in the wake of Adelaide City Council’s declaration, which marks the fifth Australian capital city to do so.

With Brisbane unlikely to change their position, the rest of Queensland is following in their footsteps.
