It’s well reported that indigenous Australians have higher rates of ill health than any other group in Australia. A survey released just last week by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, shows indigenous people are twice as likely as other Australians to report their health as either only fair or poor. But 10 inspiring Flinders University Aboriginal Health Science students graduated today, including Venessa Harris, Kym O’Donnell and Louita Casey, all hoping to make a difference for indigenous health. CEO of the Co-operative Research Centre for Aboriginal health, Mick Gooder, says this is a positive sign for the improvement of Aboriginal health.
