The Red Cross has decided to extend its highly successful school breakfast club program to 10 disadvantaged or indigenous schools in Queensland. The program has been running in New South Wales for more than a decade – and was introduced to the Northern Territory on a trial basis this year. According to Red Cross Queensland Executive Director Greg Goebel, so stunning were the results, they have accelerated plans to bring the brekkie clubs on line in Queensland – with indigenous students expected to benefit through improved concentration and behaviour.
