Boxing For Palm Island is an inspirational real life story about a new generation of young warriors who are training to be champion boxers with the support of retired boxer, Uncle Ray. Producer of the film Michaela Perske says although the film doesn’t deal with the island’s dark past it still helps to change its image. Boxing for Palm Island is featured in the Message Sticks Indigenous Film Festival, which begins its Australian tour in Canberra this weekend.
