A new book explores what it’s like to be a child in a detention centre. And it’s written for kids.

The Bone Sparrow is written from the perspective of a nine year old boy called Subhi who’s only known life behind barbed wire, and tells the story of his friendship with a ten year old girl from a country town who comes  to visit.
