Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius is preparing to compete in athletics at the Olympic Games but his quest is dividing opinion. While some question whether his prosthetic legs give him an unfair advantage, a former Olympian believes that it is an example of the true spirit of Olympic sport.

Rick Mitchell won silver in the 400m at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow and he says Pistorius’ participation at the olympics should be welcomed. However, some experts believe that including differently abled competitors like Pistorius creates a great dilemma for governing bodies of sport.
