Four cases of black lung have been diagnosed in Queensland, sparking questions about the effectiveness of occupational health and safety measures in coal mines, and the coal industry in general. Thought to be extinct, the lung disease is caused by miners breathing coal dust. Greens Senator for South Australia, Robert Simms, spoke to The Wire about the severity of the situation.
