A young boy in the US got more than he bargained for on the world’s tallest rollercoaster this week when a pigeon slammed into his face. He suffered bruising and scratches, but was otherwise unhurt. The incident threatens to prompt a bout of anxiety about the safety of theme park rides, but one Australian expert on rides says that going on a rollercoaster is one of the safest things you could do.
