The University of Wollongong will open the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Biodiversity and Heritage in 2017 to research how Australia’s landscape looked before human settlement up to European colonisation.

The centre is the first of its kind worldwide, and will have associations with Australian universities and international organisations to showcase our history.

It also aims to educate the community about our continent’s rich heritage.
