Big boost needed for vital legal services: productivity commission

The productivity commission has released a report that is quite at odds with the federal government’s approach to legal aid funding. It has called for $200 million more to be put into legal aid commissions, community legal centres and specialist legal centres. By contrast, over 15 million was cut from legal aid in the federal budget.
