Since 2008, the big four banks have loaned almost $20 billion to fossil fuel projects in Australia, and activists are taking back their money. Approximately one thousand people across the nation joined together over the weekend to divest their money from banks that lend money fossil fuel industry. The divestment campaign aims to encourage customers to move money to banks that don’t invest in fossil fuel industries. But do these campaigns make a difference?
