Tens of thousands of students joined the demonstrations demanding safer roads in Dhaka after a speeding bus killed two students.

The students brought part of the country to a standstill by checking drivers’ licenses and marching through the streets.

But the reaction of the government to this peaceful protest is making many Bangladeshi citizens question their democratic rights.
