A seventy-three old Austrian man kept his daughter locked in the basement for almost quarter of a century, with three of her six children, he had also fathered. Senior Lecturer of Social Work and Policy at the University of South Australia, Dr Alan Campbell, spoke to Clare Hesketh on the short and long term effects this experience would have on the children. Austrian expert from Melbourne University, Dr Birgit Lang also gave her opinion on how this family had slipped through the welfare system cracks and what the government is planning to do about it.
