Today, Australia will become one of the 47 members of a new elected United Nation Human Rights Council.

This new position will be an opportunity for Australia to improve its Human rights record that has been criticised for its treatment of Indigenous rights as well as refugees, and the LGBTIQ+ community .

Human Rights Law Center and Amnesty International are hoping to see changes, not only internationally but also around Australia.
