Australia’s role in identifying tsunami victims

The 2004 Boxing Day tsunami claimed over one hundred thousand lives, and for health professionals working in the aftermath of the tragedy, identifying victims has been a long and arduous process. For most of last year a team of forensic odontologists from Adelaide University worked in Thailand identifying victims through their dental records. One of the members of that team Dr Helen James told me about the conditions they faced when they first arrived.
