The Black Lives Matter movement has transcended American soil.
George Floyd’s death has stimulated conversation within Australia, as people fight for a change in the relationship between police and Indigenous Australians.
Since 1991, there have been 432 Indigenous deaths in custody, and yet no one has ever been convicted.
Further, Indigenous Australians are ten times more likely to be incarcerated than non-indigenous Australians.
There are planned protests across the country this weekend.
