Yesterday, prisoners took over a high security ward in South Australia’s notorious Port Augusta prison. 10 climbed on to the roof and held up mattresses with messages such as “no more abuse” and “overcrowding” As we go to air, 12 prisoners are still roaming free around the prison, and prison staff have been replaced with a special police force.
