Australia’s Indigenous children in crisis

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are being failed by Australia’s leaders, according to a new report.
Rates of imprisonment, abuse, and self-harm are extremely high, and many children spoke of their experiences with racism and violence.
The six-yearly report was prepared by UNICEF in conjunction with the Australian Child Rights Taskforce, and will be presented to the United Nations Children’s Committee.
Advocates and child experts are once again called on the Government to implement appropriate targets, and do better for our Indigenous children.
