Australia’s first Aboriginal political party leader

Australia has this week seen the first ever Aboriginal person installed as the leader of a political party. South Australian woman Andrea Mason will also run at the top of the senate ticket for the relatively new Family First Party – the launch of which was held on the weekend. Ms Mason says being introduced at the launch by her role-model Lowitja O’Donohue was a humbling experience – and gave the sense that everyone is watching the party’s progress in the upcoming elections.
