World Vision CEO Tim Costello is urging Australian charities to merge their resources as the public succumbs to ‘charity fatigue’. The phenomenon is used to describe people who no longer give to charities, although they may have been donors in the past. More than 600,000 not-for-profit organisations operate in Australia, meaning competition for donations is tight.
