Australian trees might be the answer to tackle climate change. New research released by the Australian National University today says that forestry in South-east Australia is among the most carbon dense in the world, storing three times more carbon than previously thought. Experts say that globally, deforestation is creating the same amount of greenhouse pollution as transport. Keeping natural forests intact will help reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere but the Australian Government has not made any commitments to protect local forests.
