The media reform package is unlikely to pass through parliament in its current form after mounting pressure from mainstream media against Senator Conroy’s proposals.
Conroy has stepped down from his “take it or leave it” stance on the legislation and is now willing to vote on the six different bills separately so there is a chance for some parts to pass through parliament.So with even less changes to be made to the current self-regulatory model, will our media regulation be left behind while our media landscape continues to evolve?
