Illegal logging seems to be something relegated to the deepest jungles of the Amazon or Borneo, but Australia has more of an impact on this international underground market than you’d think. Australia’s new anti-logging laws that are about to be passed could have a huge impact on the global illegal logging market. The Wire spoke to Distinguished Professor Bill Laurance about the international market for illegal timber, and how our laws could help stop it.
