The absence of an Australian Minister at the International climate change negotiations in Warsaw (COP19) is not the only bad start for Australia. The first Fossil of the Day was awarded to Australia for not putting forward any new finance commitments to climate change action in developing countries. The Fossil is handed out by the Climate Action Network during United Nations climate change negotiations to the countries deemed to have done their ‘best’ to block progress in the talks.
