Australia closing it’s doors to Asylum seekers

Asylum seekers from Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will have to look elsewhere for sanctuary after the federal government today announced the immediate suspension of all new asylum applications from both countries. This comes following a UN warning that people smuggling is out of control with people trying to get into Australia. The government cited “evolving circumstances” as the reason for the move.
