A delegation of Australian officials attended the annual Australia – China human rights dialogue held in Beijing this week. The dialogue was established in the late 90’s to take a different tack to the international public criticism being directed at China for its human rights abuses and despite the closed door policy the government maintains that the dialogue is essential to ongoing communication on the issue of human rights with China.
