Australia changes stance on Israeli settlers

While 158 countries voted for a UN resolution to condemn Israeli Settler violence against Palestinian civilians, Australia decided to abstain. The move is a reversal of recent Australian Government policy to vote in favour of UN resolutions against Israeli Settler action. Predictably, the move has drawn praise from Israeli activists and the ire of Palestinian activists. Opponents claim Australia is turning it’s back on Palestinian Human Rights, supporters say that such UN Resolutions are biased and will prolong the deadlock.
