Prime Minister Tony Abbott is expected to sign a uranium trade deal with his Indian counterpart Narenda Modi. India is plagued by an energy crisis with millions going without electricity and uranium is seen as the answer. However, India is not a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and is a nuclear armed state. So what are the risks? Safeguards are supposed to be in place but concerned groups say Australia is breaching international regulations by trading with India.
