Unconfirmed reports of the death of Australian IS fighter Mohammed Ali Baryalei are circulating on social media. Baryalei is the most senior Australian in ISIS ranks and while his death would discourage some it would also have the effect of making other Australian supporters keen to go to Iraq, something made harder by today’s passing of the Foreign Fighters Bill.
Middle East political commentator John Bruni says stopping ISIS members from going to fight in their war makes Lone Wolf terrorism far more likely in Australia.
