The Australian film industry is in a bad state, according to the figures released by the Australian Film Commission last week. Private investment problems and a decline in the number of American films being made over here is stifling the industry, and television production is suffering too, with les and less Aussie drama appearing on our screens. Bill Birtles spoke to Simon Whipp, Director of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance about the state of the film industry.
