Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung Sung Suu Kyi has faced international criticism for her Government’s handling of a crisis in the Muslim majority Rakhine region. Reports from the region state soldiers have blocked access for aid workers, and are accused of raping and killing civilians.

The Myanmar government claims ethnic cleansing was too strong a term to describe the situation in Rakhine, but human rights group disagree.
