Senators holding hearings into the abolition of ATSIC have adjusted proceedings to make room for cultural protocols this week. The Inquiry heard from ATSIC Central Zone Commissioner Alison Anderson yesterday, who stressed the importance of an indigenous representative body of people from around the country, and expressed her concerns about the stripping of assets and resources from the now defunct peak body. We spoke with Inquiry Head, Labour Senator for the Northern Territory Trish Crossin. Hearings begin tomorrow in Broome.
