Over 30 asylum seekers were involuntarily returned home to Sri Lanka over the weekend. The Immigration Minister Chris Bowen says asylum seekers had ”raised no issues that engaged Australia’s international obligations”. Some activists argue asylum seekers don’t have the opportunity to fully express their claims during the ‘screening in’ process which breaches International Refugee Convention.
