Since late last year asylum seekers arriving by boat arrivals don’t have to stay in detention – It’s been good news for those who have campaigned long and hard for the government to ease up on detention policy, but its now creating a problem for those individuals and families who find themselves free but without any support. Melbourne’s Asylum Seeker Resource Cenre can’t cope with the demand on their services and they’ve launched a winter appeal for community help.
