Assistant Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs Julian Hill announced the creation of an Office for Community Cohesion under the Department of Home Affairs.

Mr Hill says social cohesion is critical to continue being a successful multicultural nation despite the number of conflicts happening across the world, and the Australian government’s proposal is the way to go.

The Office’s aim is to provide support targeted at multicultural communities in terms of inclusion, but logistics behind the idea are still yet to be announced.
