In contrast to the deep cuts of the past two years, this year’s budget had nothing to say about the arts. But the sector is still out of pocket by millions of dollars and an upcoming funding decision by the Australia Council is making the sector wary about the future for small and medium-sized organisations.

So has Malcolm Turnbull brought false hope the arts woes were at an end?
