Arts program offers a life beyond sniffing

For the past three years a group of young performers have been visiting South Australia’s remote Anangu Pintjatjantjara Yankunytjatjara Lands teaching fimmaking, music and performance to young people who otherwise didn’t have a lot to do. The program run by Adelaide’s Carclew Youth Arts has had remarkable success with young petrol sniffers and substance abusers, with an 80% drop in drug abuse. Almost all the participants in the project have also gone on to finish school and start careers.
